Look at the picture that you were given. Write the beginning of a story (around half of a page)
– think about a plot (storyline) before you start writing! (collect ideas in a mind map)
mention certain features (places, details of landscape, weather)
choose a point of view (first person or third person narrator, omniscient (knows everything) or limited
Use different verbs, adjectives and sentence starters!
write in past tense
Verbs:
to admit, agree, whisper, shout, cry, scream, deny, accept, convince (überzeugen), nod, wince, laugh, smile, grin,frown, mumble (murmeln), accuse (beschuldigen), insult (beleidigen)
Adjectives:
elegant, fancy, glamorous, handsome, careful, clever, dead, easy, famous, itchy, jealous, lazy, mysterious, light
many, curly, damaged, dirty, dry, cold, modern, old-fashioned, quick, few, full, heavy
Sentence starters – some ideas:
although (obwohl), besides (neben), except (außer), on the one hand…on the other hand, additionally (zusätzlich)besides (neben), furthermore (darüber hinaus), together with (zusammen mit), especially (besonders), for the most part (for the most part of our trip to …), in this situation, of course, usually (gewöhnlich), for example, first… second… third…, at first, before, currently (jetzt gerade), during (während), earlier (früher), finally (schlussendlich), first of all (als allererstes), all in all (alles in allem)
